Following the announcement on April 30 that the Government of Alberta would be cutting funding to Calgary and Edmonton's low-income transit passes, the decision was reversed on May 1.
Meaghon Reid spoke to CBC saying, "People who rely on this transit pass and who are living in low-income have had a very distressing 24 hours. This sends a signal that we can't ignore affordability."
She believes that the province heard the amount of 'distress and urgency' in response to the decision to cut funding.
